Saloon

A 3D-printed lighting collection using fully compostable materials.

Saloon’s lighting pieces are created through 3D printing, a process that removes traditional tooling constraints and allows each lamp to take on a distinct, freely formed geometry. The method also enables the use of 100% plant-based, compostable materials, giving the products a sustainable material foundation as well as a tactile, crafted character. Behind the work is Saloon, an experimental design lab that develops functional objects through the same exploratory principles that guide their animation studio.

A chair informed by Japanese Nuki and Dami techniques. 🪑

This series combines Seto Sometsuke Yaki porcelain tiles with traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, bringing together ceramic craft and timber construction within a single object. Deep indigo tones created through the Dami technique sit alongside hand-painted details by Shingama, where brushstrokes, straight...

Concave

A lighting collection shaped by contrast. 💡

Across both the pendant and wall light, concave surfaces direct illumination upwards and downwards, creating soft halo-like effects that emphasise the surrounding architecture. Crafted from anodised aluminium, the satin finish allows light to interact with both the fixture and its...

Outer Chair

A retro-futuristic lounge chair. 🪑

Outer Chair combines a modular steel frame with a large nylon cushion, creating a seating object that feels closer to a cockpit or technical structure than a traditional lounge chair. Its exposed frame acts like an exoskeleton, giving the chair...
